Grandma Gen Funeral 1

On January 16th, 2009 we got the call that we had been expecting for months. Grandma Gen had passed away in the hospital in Raymond, Alberta. She was a month shy of her 95th birthday. She had lived a long and healthy life up to the end. It was really hard to see her so dependent on others when she was the one that everyone could always depend on. What a great lady to have known! I really wasn't looking forward to heading North in January. We were suppose to be heading to Arizona and California in a couple weeks, so I was a little worried that I might not make it with the unexpected trip. I was so happy that we made it to Canada. I wouldn't have missed her funeral for the world. When we got to Canada it was in the 50's. I was surprised that it was warmer then in was at home. On the day of the funeral the sun shined down on us. You will see from the picture what a beautiful day we had. Tyler and Ryan sang the song that they sang at Grandma Harkers. They were amazing. Her funeral was filled with lots of music. Music was Gens passion. I took lots of photos so that I could share them with Tyler's family. I hope that you enjoy looking at them. My camera was on manual focus so some of them are a little blurry. I told everyone it was because I took a picture of her in her casket. I won't be posting that one because I really felt like I should not have taken it. I guess I'm the one that does what everyone else is doing.
